“For only he who is alive is in the right.
Farewell, thou dream of so many millions; farewell,
thou who hast tyrannized over thy children for a
thousand years!
Tomorrow they carry thee to the grave; soon thy
sisters, the peoples, will follow thee. But, when they
have all followed, then—mankind is buried, and
I am my own, I am the laughing heir!”
– Max Striner, The Ego & Its Own
A record of wave-like production and washing, encompassing guitar riffs. It's criminal this hasn't gotten further reach, but it's well worth the purchase. Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
